I seem to be buying a lot of cels from shows that I was never planning on buying from. This one is another one.

Embracing Love started out as a YAOI manga that was altered in an unusual way for the anime. In the manga, the two actors are in the adult film industry, and one of the films they do together is a historical romance set during the Tokugawa era. In the Embracing Love; Cherished Spring, the anime is a two episode story about the actors’s relationship in modern Japan. There was then another version called Embracing Love; A Cicada in Winter, which is basically a movie that they worked on together. There is no hint at all in “Winter” that it is actually part of the “Spring” storyline. I originally watched them before becoming aware of how the storyline really went in the manga. I mistook the two radically different stories as modern life and previous life stories about the same couple.
